Like adults, babies can remember more things by grouping objects together, a new study found. The finding shows short term memory in babies works similarly to that in adults, who routinely break information into chunks to remember more of it. The...

Thank you for finding a piece such as this, Leena! This proves what I’ve been saying all along that we weren’t born empty vessels. There is a considerable amount of wisdom that we already have RIGHT FROM THE START.

There is much ballyhoo going around in Instablogs about the purported need to imbue humans with wisdom.

The point I stress is that we don’t have to wrack our brains looking for wisdom because we have it along. It’s what’s called INSTINCT.

I guess now there’s no need for any bone of contention on the urgent need to claim wisdom.

Wisdom’s not the problem, but attitude and behavior.

Thanks a lot Grace. And I do agree with you. We are not born empty vessels. But I think I have to differ from you in one aspect. The instinct is actually our thinking power or our intelligence. Our DNA gives us intelligence. Our intelligence gives us the ability to combine our knowledge and experience to form generic concepts in life called wisdom and hence in this way wisdom is actually learnt. We apply the wisdom that we gain once in further situations in life.

However, I feel that any kind of wisdom imparted should be useful for people. There is no point in imparting stuff that most people cannot imbibe in their present lifestyles.

Everything is in the mind. And believe me, wisdom is not something to flaunt about or for public display. Like Grace rightly pointed out, we should be good human being first and then comes the battle of wisdom. We should not annoy the god who has bestowed us with intelligence and wisdom. But then, few in INSTABLOG are either in a hyper active state or are insane. In both the case, GOD BE WITH THEM !!!!

I fully agree with you Bijoy. As you and Grace point out one should be a good human being first. That is what the concept of God is all about. There is no need to faluant anything.

Good that babies think like adults. But when a day will come when adults like Bush stop thinking like babies ? Does any one have any research or remedy ?

They certainly do. Only they don't know or can articulate what they are thinking. They think like adults! LOL!!! Did a baby tell you that or a blond babysitter tell you that? ;-)

P.S. (By 'you' I didn't mean you Leena).

well whosoever told that!...Now I understand why babies giggle such a lot. They must be laughing at all the foolish things adults do in front of them taking their ’ignorance’ for granted.

Oh that’s a good piece of information! Babies can think like adults, so the little minds have lots of stuff in it I think. I often wonder, when in front of a small baby, what he is thinking. Is he able to understand my words? Is he able to interpret my facial expression? Will he recognize me once again when I face him? I ask a lot of question to myself about what’s going on inside this handful of skull. The fresh innocent eyes attract me the most. I feel as if they are eager to convey some message.

I am sure, they must be thinking something about the world around them.
